Announcing: Our Historic Savannah Inns Will Support Weddings for Warriors' Military Weddings in 2015

SAVANNAH Georgia -- Today we announce the devoted, privately owned Romantic Inns in Savannah, Georgia -- the smallest of this city's historic bed and breakfasts -- enthusiastically support Weddings for Warriors in Savannah, providing 22 gifted military weddings in 2015!  We are so pleased to participate again to honor a few of America's military couples in a very special way.
Weddings for Warriors, founded in Savannah, Georgia USA by Savannah wedding professionals, will host twenty-two (22) complimentary military weddings in Savannah, Georgia, on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

Beyond hospitality and top-tier lodging in the historic district -- juggling relaxation, bucket lists, and travel pleasures for traveling guests -- local Romantic Inns owners flock to be active in neighborhood outreach, culture, society, and community philanthropy.

As part of a year around effort to honor America's military families, many of our Romantic Inns of Savannah B&B owners are busy already assisting the Weddings for Warriors Project in Savannah, Georgia USA for the mid-January 2015 weddings. For months now bed and breakfast inn owners have accelerated efforts, adding volunteer enthusiasm and resources to accomplish the wedding plans and behind the scene logistics for what will be ONE full day of weddings in Savannah.

During this week of Thanksgiving, this blog post is to say, "America's military couples, thanks for giving of yourselves"!

We want to extend this thanks further now, adding our best wishes, along with our small business gratitude for these opportunities through Weddings for Warriors to be "giving"!
Based in Savannah, Georgia in 2009, the Weddings for Warriors (W4W) Project has now evolved into a non-profit organization. Spearheaded by Savannah wedding professionals -- taking the lead, donating talent and resources, and calling upon their networks of vendors -- every supporting professional and volunteer adds support for W4W to host free weddings to military couples serving in southeast Georgia and South Carolina. Local media extensively covers the full day of wedding activities annually. CNN featured the Savannah military weddings nationally.
"Too many military brides and grooms are married quickly at their courthouse. And, too often these devoted couples forfeit a church wedding, wedding dress, photographs, wedding cake, and reception due to military assignments and/or expense. We can and are doing something to correct that for hundreds of America's military couples who serve in or near Savannah, Georgia," explains Diane Crews of Green Palm Inn, who serves on the board of directors for the non-profit Weddings for Warriors initiative.

Organizing hundred of professional volunteers and business resources, church and community volunteers, Weddings for Warriors has coordinated goods and services -- valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars now -- to provide free weddings to hundreds of active USA military couples.
Did you know? Hundreds of volunteers and businesses join together to make this wedding spectacular a heart-warming event annually. Some volunteers travel hundreds of miles to lend their valuable talents. Some military couples return as volunteers. Vendors donate bride and attendant dresses, transportation, lodging, and flowers. Photographers, bakers, wedding planners, beauticians, make up artists, clergy, musicians and others donate their talents. The list is too long to post here!
Outside the cocoons of our beautiful Savannah lodging accommodations and guest services associated with Savannah tourism, owners of these historic Savannah inns are active participants and community enthusiasts, too!

"Why are Romantic Inns involved? This is our way of thanking a few of America's military men and women -- the warriors, the day-to-day heroes -- for keeping us safe. The military forces and their families step up to the plate every day," Diane adds. "Like most business and volunteers, our small Savannah lodging establishments do these deeds, humbly, and with great pride, usually without any public acknowledgement."

Most of the privately owned Romantic Inns of Savannah owners donated a 1-night or 2-night stay at their inn. Jackie Heinz from Zeigler House Inn joined Diane to assemble generous gift bags for each wedding couple. Jane Sales and Anna Kelley from Presidents' Quarters Inn added their assistance during the 2014 grand reception held at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force in January 2014.

When our Romantic Savannah Inns step up with this level of support, each who supports these beautiful wedding events tap into their personal and their inn's goodwill, calling upon their relationships with local restaurants, shops, and tour companies to add generous take away gifts for each wedding couple. In support of refreshments for the meet and greet reception, top tier eateries and generous food suppliers with whom we do business provided hors d'oeuvres -- International Gourmet Foods, Flat Creek Lodge Dairy, Crystal Beer Parlor, In Laws Produce, and Cha Bella.

Passionate Romantic Inns' innkeepers called and obtained dining gift certificates, tour gift certificates, candles from One Fish Two Fish, bath scents from Nourish, honey products from Savannah Bee Company, and gift certificates from The Salt TableAlligator Soul, Elizabeth on 37th, and Leopold's Ice Cream.

More generosity came from our Savannah tourism stars.

Our Romantic Inns purchased the coffee table book, produced by Tourism Leadership Council -- Savannah: A Southern Journey -- to add to each gift basket. Where ever they go, for years ahead, this beautiful book continues to showcase Savannah, Georgia's charm for the Weddings for Warriors' families. P.S. We're eagerly awaiting the new edition, currently in the works!

Want to help with the Weddings for Warrior activities? What can you do?

To share your appreciation to America's military families, you too can help. How? Donate to the non-profit group, which will help to cover out-of-pocket expenses. Fly your USA flags on homes and businesses during the week of  January 14, 2015. One by one, when each person does a little to show appreciation to our USA military families, big, heart-warming things happen!

Get in touch with us. We'll make the right connections for you!
